How to determine the suitable size of the chamber for your bong?

Most modern chambers come with a glass downstem with a diameter of 14mm, allowing for easy installation onto your favorite bong. In case the stem is smaller than the bong hole joint, you can use an appropriate grommet. Additionally, to ensure both functionality and aesthetic appeal for your smoking device, consider the following dimensions:

  • Chamber total height: Including the dimensions of the stem and cone. You should choose a chamber lower than the bong by at least 15%. For example, if the bong is 25cm tall, the chamber should be no taller than 15cm.
  • Downstem length: Since the downstem is made of glass and difficult to adjust in size, choose a suitable length that matches the height of the bong’s smoke chamber. If it’s too long, the chamber will protrude too much, causing imbalance. If it’s too short, it won’t make proper contact with the bong’s water level.

Additionally, you should also consider the glass stem diameter. Although the current standard is 14mm, there are still some older chamber models with larger or smaller glass stem diameters.
